Norfolk, (Lowestoft) and areas MTB scene

Hi Guys
I am moving to Lowestoft (in the general area) early next year. I dont know the area very well as I am currently living in SA. I was wondering what the local mountain bike scene is like. I am particularly interested in Marathon and Endurance type racing, and not really into “trail free ride/down hill type stuff”. I understand that the area is VERY flat
Anyone know what the local race scene is like in this general area of Norfolk.
