Hi All.

Just getting back into riding and have an old open face helmet that I don't really trust anymore.

Looking to get a new one and want a full face that is budget friendly and useable. Any suggestions? It will just be used for trails riding.

I know full face is not the done thing in MTB trail riding but I'm happy to take the comments and people laughing for the sake of potentially saving my teeth in the future.

If you really need one then one of the semi full face helmets like the Bell Super would be best. They're a lot cooler and lighter.
I use a Fox Rampage carbon for downhill which is about as good as proper full face helmets get but I'd never want to do any miles in it. It's just too heavy and hot and claustrophobic.

Fox have a new one. It's got a chin bar but it's quite open and meant to be very good. Pricey though!

I bought one of these for pretty much the same reason.

I've not tested/fallen on it yet, so I can't say much about the protection level.
It's definitely hotter than no helmet, obviously, but for me it's acceptable.
The chin bar helps avoid swallowing flies and midges! :)

I'd definitely buy another one and would wear it pretty much any time on the bike regardless of what anyone else might think.

    Thanks for the suggestions guys,

Not so worried about that, I have played American Football for the last 9 years so fairly used to breathing heavy with a helmet on.

    Looks good to me.

Keen. Pricey like you say and I'm still in the dog house for spending £350 on my American Football lid this year!
