New cassette questions

Pal of mine currently runs a shimano claris 8 speed group set with 12-32 cassette on his road bike but wants to go up to a 34. Would a 12-34 be an easy swap?

    In short.. It should be fine. You may have to turn your b screw in some so that the mech can clear the larger 34t sprocket. The chain may also need lengthening. You won't really be able to know unless you try it unfortunately.
