Hi there
I've got a Rockhopper Comp 2004
http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?year=2004&brand=Specialized&model=Rockhopper+Comp
Went to the park with my son, took the front wheel off to get it in the car and left it there
The spec above says Mavic MX117 rims. I don't know if they make them any more.
what would the cheapest way of getting back this back on the road for? I guess if I buy new I need to buy a pair. Apols I'm fairly clueless
Appreciate any help

Would this do the job for the wheel?

The brakes are listed as Shimano BR-420. I guess I would need

And then

And then the Schwalbe Marathon tyre I had on it Might be cheaper to buy a new bike0 -
No. If the Bikepedia specs are right the bike has V brakes, not discs.
The linked wheel might have a braking surface, I can't tell from the rubbish picture, but all the rest of the disc paraphernalia will be wasted money.I don't do smileys.

But it's your bike, so If it has discs you've linked to the wrong bike.I don't do smileys.

You don't need a Mavic 117 to replace it (the 117 is a cheap and not very good rim anyway), you just need a 26" front wheel with either disc or rim brake compatibility as appropriate.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Have you been back to the park to check if it's still there?0

Ha ha yes, thanks Had a good scout around. I'd left it in the car park. It was either nicked or chucked in the lake - I rang the park warden a couple of times but nothing had been handed in etc
It is the comp disc version, so apologies for the wrong link, and thanks for your replies.0
