How many rides to get a new bike dialled in?

Out of curiosity, how long does it normally take you to get a new bike 'just right' - gearing properly indexed and clean, controls in just the right spot, no clicks / creaks, shock and tyre pressures all happy?

I finally seem to have just about reached that spot now with my rocket but it must have been after about 20-30 hours riding since it's initial build! In my defence it was second hand with some knackered components along the way..

I've ridden 35 miles over two weeks on my new full suss, and I think I'm nearly there. It's certainly down to little tweaks now, and I don't think there'll be any next time I ride. Oddly, it's not far away from where I started, but I guess you need to make changes to know that!

I have never managed it .. pretty much every ride something is always "out" and just as I get it perfect, something breaks
