I ended up getting rid of my Carrera Gryphon bike, it just wasn't for me, but I took some parts from it before selling to a friend.

I then bought this on Ebay from a guy based near Silverstone. Then added my tyres / inners / crank / pedals / chain & lights.

Weight: Not a clue!

So soon as I got the bike I had my Campag Centaur crank and bottom bracket fitted with the KMC black diamond chain. I also swapped over my tyres and inners as they had hardly covered many miles. The parts removed from this were stuck on the carrera and then sold.

Soon as I purchased the bike I knew the shifters were going to be horrid but I didn't realise how bad they are.

I have ordered a set of Shimano 105 levers which should hopefully bring the bike back to life, the cables will all be replaced and the sheathing will be black. While this is being done the bar tape will also be getting replaced, not sure wether to go a dark grey or stick to black. Think I am going to go for Lizard Skin, I see nothing but good reviews.

Going to change the water bottle cage to a black one and also add a second.

Then at some point I want to change the seat to also a more comfortable black one and change the drop bars at some point.

The wheel vinyls have been removed this afternoon since these photos were taken, they were starting to peel and I feel the bike looks very busy so want to tame it down.

Enjoying it after getting out on it today back to my short commute. I am doing my first sportive in a couple weeks, only a 25 miler to get a feel for an organised ride.

Have you thought about couples pedals? It'll make a world of difference to your enjoyment of riding.

I will at some point but I thought while I'm getting used to riding again and in the road I will get some miles down on flat pedals.

Clipless pedals...and when you replace the shifters tidy up the cabling - the outer's at the front are far too long.

Don't worry the cable mess will be sorted.

I will get to clipless pedals at some point soon.

perhaps the outers are that long so they can be utilised as a washing line whilst out riding.

Nothing beats bringing a positive from a negative.

My 105 levers are here now, just waiting on my DPD delivery that was due Saturday, that contains my black Lizard Skin bar tape.
