Hi all
Was thinking of upgrading the wheels on my boardman comp though it looks even more complicated than upgrading road wheels!
I only have a 9mm QR fork, and I am guessing 6 bolt SRAM (not centrelock) 27.5 wheels but I am struggling to find anything at the more bargain end of things (<£150). I know it isnt much £££ but if i was upgrading road wheels i would have loads to choose from, do MTB'ers not upgrade wheels from stock so readily or quite simply am i being a cheapskate? There are lots of 15mm thru-axle versions - can i adapt these to fit a 9mm QR fork or does this compromise strength etc?
If anyone has any personal recommendations i would be all ears, also I am thinking of going tubeless but guess at this price range, if i find anything, its going to have to be a homebrew tubeless rather than tubeless ready? I am only riding trails and XC, no crazy downhill / enduro stuff was just thinking a wheel upgrade might be sensible?

quite a lot of hubs can be convereted between 5mm QR, 9mm throu and 15mm throu axles. have a look at superstar components but TBH 150 isn't going to get you anything worth while new.0

Thanks POAH you are probably right about budget, just didn't think the bike warranted any bigger budget wheels so may just keep them as stock. Good to know through axle wheels can be adapted though...0

Thanks very much POAH. First I am going to see if I can swap my missus' thru-axle raidon fork for my QR one, but if it fails this is perfect...0
