HI all.
First post, so this is a quick introduction to my newest project.
I have been off the saddle for at least a decade now due to being fat and busy but hopefully this will get me back into riding again. I got it cheap due to the condition it was in. It was pretty much half a bike but it's now almost finished. As you can see, it's been fully refurbished and is looking pretty good now.
Spec:
Frame: Specialised Big Hit Expert
Fork: Marzocchi Bomber Jr T
Shock: Manitou Swinger-SPV 222mm 3-Way Coil Shock
Rims: SunRims Singletrack
Stem: Husslefelt Truvativ
Bars: Sixpack Vegas
Headset: FSA Pig
Brakes: Cheap, unbranded mechanical disks until I can get the hydro's serviced.
Also got the following parts to add to it before its finished.
Endure Chain Guide
JNP Single Speed chain ring
Looking forward to getting out on it.

You've done a nice job. Just hope you aren't planning on riding up too many hills.I don't do smileys.

Wow, don't take this personally but having got used to the slack head angles on modern downhill bikes this looks like it's been ridden into a wall! Glad to see an older bike revived, have fun with it! 26 ain't dead yet??!!0

Only when I have to. I live near a well known cycle track so I'm going to get used to riding again on that and then once I'm confident again ill start hitting some trails and see how I go.darmelabi wrote:Wow, don't take this personally but having got used to the slack head angles on modern downhill bikes this looks like it's been ridden into a wall! I don't offend easy so don't worry about it. I'm fully aware that its a very stubby angled bike. Thats kind of why I love it. I'm no pro so an old bike like this is ideal for me.
26" front and 24" rear - 32T chainring - should make any incline a big task haha.
So far it's cost me under £3500 -
I've got a thing for old Specialized bikes (used to own an 05 Demo 8 and 07 SX Trail) and always wanted a Big Hit too. You've done a great job restoring this one!
