Fulcrum Disc Thru Axle End Caps

I'm trying to convert a 12 * 142mm thru axle Fulcrum hub to 12 * 135mm. I have the right end caps but I can't get the existing drive side 142mm end cap off to fit the 135mm alternative. Does anybody know how to do this - I'm sure it's astonishingly simple but I can't work it out and Google hasn't been my friend

    Just in case anybody is searching the forum with this issue and comes across this thread.

    I eventually got hold of the workshop docs from I-ride who are the UK Fulcrum distributor. What those docs show and the user manual doesn't is that it's a bloody left hand thread. As soon as I turned it the wrong/right way it came off.

    4 weeks, hours of Googling and trips to 2 different bike shops didn't pick that up
