THREE "MURS" IN 58 KM… A ROLLERCOASTER TO HUY
The final climb of the Mur de Huy always offers an intense showdown on its extra-steep slopes. But how many riders will still be in contention when tackling the prestigious 1.3 km climb? The changes introduced in this year's finale could smash some riders' hope earlier, as explained by Jean-Michel Monin, in charge of the route: "Actually, the final loop is still the same but we'll do it twice. The introductory part will be flatter, but then we have nine climbs in the last 75 kilometres… and we go up the Mur de Huy three times within 58 kilometres. That means it will be harder to control the race on this loop with three climbs, including the côte de Cherave and the côte d'Ereffe. It will be necessary to ride at the front, even more than usual, in order to avoid being trapped behind a split."

Women's race is also round 7 of the UCIWWT and has started from Huy. Their 120km route will climb the Mur twice including the finish.

Break of the day? Yoann Bagot, Nils Politt, Olivier Pardini, Romain Guillermois, Fabien Doubey and Daniel Pearson have around a 5min lead after 30km.

4 in the breakaway group in the Women's race - Allie Dragoo, Anisha Vekemans, Sofie De Vuyst and Katia Ragusa - but there has been a nasty crash towards the back of the peloton. Hope all involved are ok.

In the Women's race - Main field being really strung out by the fast pace created by Sunweb and BoelsDolmans at the front. Gap back to 1:30 to the 4 leaders

Dragoo and De Vuyst are left from the initial leaders in the women's race. Ashleigh Moolman might be about to join them and has a good chance since Dragoo is on the same (Cervelo) team. Mur round one to come.

40" lead for Riabchenko and Vilmann in the women's race with just 10km to go.

Steady gap in the men's race with the original break of 6 riders 5mins from the main field.

7km to go and Deignan and Niewiadoma lead by a few meters over Van der Breggen, Garfoot, Moolman and Vilmann. Cote de Cherave is almost done.

Van der Breggen has the lead on the Mur over Deignan and Niewiadoma.

    1. Van der Breggen
    2. Deignan
    3. Niewiadoma

    Familiar podium ...
