Quite. Say what you like about Cementhead but he's consistent. To be able to coach that talent out of the players so consistently takes some doing.

That said, it is probably the correct game plan.

. . . although the test team selection would suggest that Gatland may be trying to "out-all-black" the All Blacks . . . a dangerous move IMHO

Or a bluff. Those players suggest a wider game but are equal to the other players who seem to signal a more defensive one. I suspect it's about the 'right time to counter' approach. Interesting strategic signals though.

One of my rugby mates who emigrated to New Zealand a few years ago said on Facebook that the local kiwis are being loudly dismissive of the Lions, which is apparently a good indication that they're more than a bit nervous!

Played well for large parts of the game but failed to take their chances and the All Blacks take all theirs so looks like a 20 point defeat. You really have to be clinical playing the All Blacks or you'll lose.

They shut them down very well, then switched off at silly points. Then Gatland's merry go round subs policy killed all momentum.

The All Blacks passing out of the tackle is sublime

The Lions can beat the All Blacks but they must drag them down to their level

Just seen my brother in the crowd at the second test.......jammy bastard!!!

    Weather looks crap though

Two minutes to kick off, to be honest I can't see anything other than a comfortable All Black victory.

Sonny Bill sent off, Hansen has made a big decision to lose a forward and keep a full back line. The Lions need to exploit this early.

First All Black sent off since 1967 apparently

Deadlock at half time, the Lions need to start making the extra man count.

They've had a charmed life with referees, Umaga and Meealmu escaping reds for the spear on O'Driscoll being the most obvious example.

Losing to 14 men, for just under an hour even though they are the ABs is not good enough.

Lions need to keep the ball deep in NZ territory now.

Not a game high on skill but compelling nevertheless

Expect a massive reaction from the All Blacks next week

The All Blacks will thrash them next week. They won't take kindly to losing today.

Possibly. Though they don't really know what losing means, so it's quite hard to predict. They've not looked that great over the 2 games regardless of numbers. They're either due to really click or just be a bit below par again.

So, NZ played with 14 men for 3/4 of the game, and without one of their best players.
And all we could do is win by 3 points? 2-1 NZ.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Try and see it as a handicapping system to make it more even

Interesting sour grapes comment on twitter yesterday along the lines of 'you should win, try playing a team made up of the southern 4 nations.'

Not a bad point, but, which AB would you drop to make way?

Do you not think we should have a British or Irish coach?

Like county cricket maybe we could have a quota for overseas players.
