I'm wanting a hardtail mountain bike with a budget of£300-£350. I know that will get me a low quality bike but i will be using the bike mainly to get fit. I have been searching for recommendations however i just don't have a clue which is the best bike with the budget i have. Any recommendations would be great.

These are the bikes i have been looking at-

I'd buy that if I wanted the best bike for your budget.

Plenty of women ride 'mens' bikes - do you laugh at them?

Just swap the saddle and go.

It's an unbelievably good value bike, you can change the saddle and grips and remive the purple stickers for the forks if you're masculinity is marginal enough to be concerned by such things.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

It's not the answer you're looking for, but if the main purpose is to get fit, maybe the biggest, heaviest bike you can find? Lugging that around will get you fit quicker.
