Good morning! New to this forum and to road cycling in general!
But I have managed to bad myself a spot on the ride 100 in July this year. Next week I start the 16 week beginners training plan and to be honest I am pooping it a bit and feel overwhelmed!
I have a hybrid bike which is relatively new, and complete about 4 spin classes a week at the gym which I hope gives me a base level of fitness.
So any advice or tips will be greatly welcomed
Thanks all!!

1st Get a road bike,
2nd Get out and ride said road bike and increase the amount of miles that you can do.
Basically Ride the bike further and further. Dont worry about completing a century before hand. If you can do 80 miles you can 100."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."

(There tend to be dozens of Ride London threads and the mods decided a couple of years ago that the "Sportives" sub forum is the place for them)
You will be fine on a hybrid. Just get out and ride roads and hills.0 -
Ride your bike. As much as you can. Find out what works for you in regards to comfort, fuelling and effort you can sustain over distances. Do some hills. You'll be faster on the day due to the big rider numbers, closed roads and awesome atmosphere.
Boris Johnson did it on a hybrid, so can you!0
