What's you favorite shirt material to use while commuting? If I know that I won't be able to shower at the place I'm headed I'll go with a merino t-shirt. The anti smell properties are amazing as far as I can tell so far.

Normal lycra jersey that I'd use for any ride as I can shower at work.
No material in the world is going to have me smelling acceptable after a ride.
I know the mantra of "ride slowly and don't sweat" but riding slowly is awful and I can't bring myself to do it.--

I opt for a looser fitting 100% polyester t-shirt ... only to reduce the amount I sweat in the first place as opposed to trying to wick it away.
then use of baby wipes
however, if I do a club ride before work then it doesn't matter what I wear .. its shower time ! ..... fortunately my commute into work can be very short (4 miles) and mostly down hill so I can avoid the smelling issue by cycling the shortway and limiting my racing to a couple of sprints0 -
Almost always merino for me, even in summer, if I want to wear the shirt for the working day. I'll wear lycra or other synthetics if it's really hot or as a baselayer if it's a very rainy day, and I know I'll need to change when I get in.0
