Chaps, Chapettes,

My current Cycle to work scheme ends this month (painful story) and I fancy getting a summer bike. I wondered what people's opinions were on some good options?

I'm a complete disc convert and love my Giant defy 2 disc.
Bikes seem to have rocketed up in price of late - in the autumn you could get an Eastway emitter with a full carbon frame, 105 groupset, and shimano hydro discs for £1014. Now I can't see much that is an upgrade over my current defy (alu frame, tiagra, trp spyre cable discs) .... so sad.

So am I missing any good deals? What would you be looking at for a 1k summer bike?

Depending on your size, you might still get a 2016 Cube Attain GTC disc from Rutland. Carbon frame, 105 and hydro discs. Think they charge a bit extra for cycle to work purchases but still a great value bike. A few other places might have them in other sizes if you hunt around. There's a thread going on the Your Road Bikes section with feedback from others on here that have bought them.

Rutland will charge you 12% on top for using cycle to work on a sale bike, this seems to be fairly standard.

The Cube is still a great bike for just over £1,100, the 2016 models are getting a bit thin on the ground now tho

Rutland are also offering the Genesis Datum 20 Disc at 29% off RRP. Carbon frame, 105 5800 groupset with hydraulic brakes.
If you can stretch to £1500 or thereabouts it is certainly worth considering
