Riding Cobbles/Gravel on standard road bike setup?

Despite the name it's more like Tro Bro Leon than Paris-Roubaix. Think farm tracks with broken surfacing and gravel rather than rough pave. I decent set of all weather / puncture resistant tyres (25mm or maybe 28mm if you can fit them) is all you'll need on a standard bike (and possibly stronger wheels if you usually use lightweight versions). A decent pair of shorts and mitts is always worthwhile anyway I find for longer rides on any roads. I certainly wouldn't invest too much effort into adapting the bike.0

It'll be fine - just slam some wider tyres on and off you go. Don't worry about it.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Did the OP get killed to death in one of the farm tracks down their in South Wales?
Or is he still in a quandary about ridding a road bike on anything other than a road.
