Fulcrum Quattro wheels - axle too short?

Hi there, I have decided to upgrade from the stock wheels on my Spec Roubaix SL4 Disc from Axis 4.0 to set of Fulcrum Quattro Carbon DBs with QR fitting. I have also put on a new Shimano 11 speed cassette, replacing an old 11 speed cassette.

The problem is that the axle appears to be too short on the drive side, and as a result the small gear is almost touching the frame, within 1mm, and the chain certainly cannot change onto it. The stub coming out of the hub appears to be about 3mm too short. If I can work out how to add a picture I will post one...

Is there a problem with the wheels, or Is this expected and what can I do?
I am worried that if I put any spacers on the axle I will lose the stub which goes into the frame hanger.

Do a forum search to read about other people's experiences with this issue. You need special wheels to fit the Roubaix disc frame although it appears you can get a gear hanger from Specialized dealers enabling you to fit standard wheels.

ok, thanks for this. I did an initial search but I was looking more at the wheels as the problem, not the frame!

One other thought - do you have a spacer behind your 11-speed cassette? These are needed to run a 10-speed cassette but not, as far as I know, for 11-speed.

Thanks Mercia Man - yes I checked that there wasn't a spacer from the start - I didn't realise there was a difference between SCS and non-SCS frames and wheels. Looks like from other posts that SCS may have now run its course with the new Spech frames. Anyway, Im now off to find a non SCS hangar widget thingymejig... Cheers
