Couple of dumb questions

Sorry for asking such a dumb question (or 2) but why do cycle shorts not have specific width settings similar to saddle widths? If it's important enough to have the correct width saddle, I'd have thought it was important enough to have the chamois padding in the same area as your sit-bones too. And I don't mean having them on the edge of the padded section.

And...

Why doesn't anyone offer power meters in SPD pedals?

if pads were sized to only match the saddle you'd be unable to move around, as it is the padded area is longer/wider to allow for a range of positions irrespective of saddle size (within reason)

spd as in mtb pedals? i'd assume lack of demand to be commercially viable

I just bought, and tried some, Endura fs260 narrow padshorts from Wiggle, half price. And very nice they are too.

    Fizik.

They match saddles and shorts - not sure how gimicky it is, if you have a saddle that you like and shorts that you like; thats all that matters.

SPD power pedals would get smashed to pieces halfway into your first MTB ride.

This is the Endura sizing chart versus saddle use.
I went narrow as I use Ariones.

SPD and spd-sl are trademark or protected design or something. When shimano make their own pedal based system, you can get one.

Of course you can have whatever you want on a crank based on.

Cyclepowermeters.com do a Garmin Vector pedal set in Ultegra bodies.
