Please my perineum is in tatters, I can't make the saddle level. Should I get a new seat post or saddle?

Also I've got a degree in computer science and about 20 years experience and cant work out how to put a url in.

Firstly Brooks saddles are probably one of the most comfortable saddles you can get for long distance riding, that said it takes a few hundred miles to soften up and bed in. Are you using decent padded shorts, these will make a big difference. You should be able to level the saddle easily enough, note that not everyone gets on with a level saddle. You should be able to copy and paste a web address without a problem. Is this the bike you tried to link.

Saddles are a very personal thing and, unfortunately, if you have a tender backside trial and error is all you can do.

As Oxoman says the Brookes needs to be "ridden-in" much more than other saddles but if it is the right one for you it will be very comfortable.

Padded bib shorts and chamois cream will help. The other things you can do to help are: keep the area very clean, don't keep your bibs on after you have finished a ride - get them off and let the air circulate or immediately have a shower, keep the area dry and sweat free.

Plus, Team GB banned their riders from shaving that area as they found the process of shaving and re-growth was causing sores.

Woman focused but still relevant to men in some issues:

What about sizing? I don't see that Brooks offers size ranges within a saddle type. From my experience, if the saddle is to wide or narrow and does not align with your "sit bones" it might never be comfortable.

My Brooks B17 was armchair comfy out of the box and has stayed that way. 5 years on it has 2 barely discernible dimples where my sit bones rest.

I have it set up completely level. If you can't get it level I think it will have more to do with the saddle rail clamp of your seat post than the saddle itself. Some of them just seem to have detents which mean it's either pointing slightly up or down...
