Suggestions for a new bike

Hi all first post so be gentle... so as the title says I'm after a new bike. Been riding a carrera tdf for the last 3 half years. Got the bug last couple.

I cover 100 miles a week commuting to work plus another 50-75 in spring/summer on club rides a week. I will keep the carrera for winter commutes but want a 'best bike' for club rides etc.

I have £500 ish not loads but enough hopefully to improve on what I have. looking second hand which I guess is best?

So can anyone recommend bikes at this price point? Should I go carbon or aluminium?

I'm 6ft 1, 90kg. Average 17-18 mph on a 50 mile plus club ride. Done a few sportives over the last year mainly 100 milers, got another in 7 weeks so would like a new bike for then.

I'd be looking for a Cannondale CAAD8 or 10 with at least 105. Few on eBay in the price range.
