Need a little help as I never had FS bike, rear monarch R is it normal to run high air pressure to get 25-30% sag? currently I'm bit on heavy side and need to run 260 psi for 25% and 250psi for 30%, shock hasn't lost pressure over night or anything but I'm nearly on max shock pressure of 275 psi.

Thanks

As a rough guide set the shock pressure the same as your weight in pounds, check the sag and increase or decrease the pressure accordingly.
As long as the pressure is below the maximum recommended pressure it will be fine.

Shock pressure very much depends on the effective leverage ratio of the bike suspension, as you haven't told us what the bike is, the answer is probably a definite maybe yes.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
