Dead 'Gentleman Sausage'

Been on a few 40ish mile rides and I seem to get pins and needles and then sometimes a bit of a dead sausage haha. I have to stand up or have a proper shifty around so I know it hasn't dropped off!

Is it my position, the seat, or just something I'll get used to lol?

I get that if I sit down too long, so I stand up in the pedals every 20 minutes or so if it starts.

Try dropping the nose of the saddle slightly.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Symptoms of either wrong saddle type, size or most likely, position.
Resolved using manual methods. If it persists seek professional help.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I get that on the turbo but not on bike rides. The difference is I NEVER stand up on the turbo but regularly stand up on the bike.

Try a saddle with a cut out or adjust position as above.

If problem persists head to the doctor.

Exactly the same here. Happens after about half an hour on the turbo - 20 seconds or so of standing sorts it out. Same saddle as the bike I use on the road where it's never happened.

I had this and tried several different saddles with cut outs etc but all still gave me the same issue with varying degree's of success. The solution i found is already listed above. Tilt the nose of the saddle down slightly. Try a little bit first, then add more or less as you experiment!

    Sorted me out

Watch more NATN. That always solves any problems "down below" for me.

+ or - 2mm on a saddle makes a big difference. Tinker tinker tinker then buy a saddle with a cut out. Sort it out pronto in case your sausage doesn't wake up next time.

The weight of that enormous signature above me is crushing my head!

  • Haha, cheers gents. I'll try the seat adjustment first.

It doesn't look great massaging my bits on a group ride but glad to hear I'm not the only one!

Oh no, I'll still do that too! Can't beat the look on their face when they spot you on their driveway!

Nice to give them a cheeky wave
