Re-cabling - which is good?

This is a question about re cabling our tandem but the answer isnt tandem specific (I dont think). Not looking for the absolute best cabling as I probably cant get cables like that in 3m lengths
Looking at 3m long cable inners I can find 3 types - (cheapest) Galvanised, (cheapish) PTFE coated Galvanised and (not so cheap or easy to get) Stainless
My first inclination is to go PTFE coated Galvanised as there is a lot of cable length (ie friction) on a tandem. Any thoughts?
I assume generic 5mm brake outer (I have loads) and Shimano gear outer (need some more) will be good enough?

thanks for that, tracked down some Fibrax SS which are lovely and smooth - can definitely feel the difference in these over cheaper galvanised ones0
