As the title states any recommendations for couriers to use to ship a frame inside the UK. Obviously want it to get there in one piece but not cost the earth.

AFAIK all pretty much of a muchness - it's going to depend on your packing largely.

Two options - bit of bubblewrap and packing tape around the frame so it's obvious it's a bike frame or put it in a box where you can protect it better, but they're not going to know what it is and probably throw it around anyway.
One thing I had heard - from importers I think - they get their bikes packed in TV boxes with a picture of a TV on the front - which for them - seems to make the handlers take a bit more care ... so perhaps get down to the local TV shop and see if they've got an old box you can pack it in?

The courier company known as your car with you driving?

Other than that, I recommend a metric tonne of bubble wrap, etc

It's just a hill. Get over it.
