    Thanks for the replies and suggestions folks. A friend of mine has just built his first set of wheels, i hadn't thought of buying the components separately and getting them built up so will have a word with him and see if he fancies putting my life in his wheelbuilding hands.

    Only other thing I've come across is a hope 20five/rs4 hub combo at Westbrook cycles. 3yrs 0% interest makes them virtually free per month, but suspect my weight may be pushing it for these ?

    have a look at https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/wheel-build/ they build custom wheels and might very well do finance on the package
