Hi,
im having too make a decision about bike storage.
So then here's the question, "How do you store your bike, security etc location ?"
I have the bikes covered with household insurance but I would be gutted if they were stolen.
Just after some ideas off you.
Thanks.......

Pedal Cover offer an unbeatable product that is both home insurance and bike insurance and costs not a lot more than standard home and contents cover.0

I'm getting proper bike insurance through either Bikmo or yellow jersey as they cover everything.
My house insurance only covers bikes up to £350.
As for storage both mine and my OHs bike are clipped to the wall in our dining room using clug mounts0 -
Bought an Asguard Cycle Shed. Bought the 3 bike version, it quite comfortably fits in 5 bikes if pedals and bars are interlinked. Built to last, it weighs around 18 stone so its quite immovable unless you have a tow truck or a circular saw to cut through the galvanized steel.
Its now only got in 3 and some chairs, a table, bike stand and a turbo in there. Quite roomy and pretty secure.0 -

In doors, artfully hanging on a Topeak Duo stand against the dinning room wall.
Two pieces of Italian art.
Home insurance covers the bikes as listed items valued at £8000. This added £9 a year to the premium.
At Christmas they are decorated with tinsel and the lights are on rapid strobe!!!0 -
Which insurance company was that?
Also i presume they are not insured outside the home at that kind if premium0 -
Mine just sits on-top of our bedroom drawers, Girlfriend isn't too happy about it, but it was her idea for me to get a bike again, so.....0

Home contents insurance with Aviva.
No they are not covered outside the house, I found the premiums and restrictions totally ridiculous.
I think I was quoted over £500 a year and would need to haul a concrete block and ships anchor chain around with me.0 -

Marginally more than my previous house contents. Oh, and in a under stair cupboard to keep them warm & dry.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Interested in Pedal cover, have just requested a quote.
I have the three most valuable bikes inside the house on one of these in the dining room:
But a large number of bikes and two turbo trainers in the garage as well - presumably it would cover everything in a worst case scenario.
Do you have to keep bikes additionally locked up within a garage - I'm assuming not?
Are you expected to detail each and every bike, date bought, serial numbers etc etc?Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

9 road bikes in the bike room in the house (5 on velohinges, 3 on top-tube supports and one on the turbo). Insurance through Hiscox. Mountain bikes and other crap in the garage. Wheelsets all over the place, including some expensive ones in the garage, which is more of a problem. I need a bigger bike room.0
