Tiagra 4700 compatibility

Newbie question.

Can someone tell me if a Tiagra 4700 shifter is compatible with an Ultegra 6700 front mech.? Are the actuation ratios the same?

    No they are not. The pull ratio of the 4700 STI is different to the 10sp 6700 groupset, you will need the matching 4700 FD with the longer actuating arm. See the Shimano compatibility Chart

    Thanks for confirming DJ58. I didn't think they were from reading elsewhere. Evans really don't know bikes do they? I asked for a replacement front mech. and because they don't have any 4700fd in stock they think it ok to send me an Ultegra 6700! This is just the tip of the iceberg and it's a long story...
