Garmin 520 rapid battery drain

Since the V11.0 update a few days ago my 520 has been rapidly draining battery while powered down.
It was working fine before the update, lasting way over 12-14 hours between charges. I went out for a 3 hour run on Sunday, got back with more than 70% charge. rested Monday then rode to work Tuesday and the 520 was dead by the end of my road, battery at zero and wouldn't turn back on.
Got to work and charged it all day and was fine for the 40 minute ride home, got me back in the next morning and home again, this morning, turned on and dead again. So it's lasted less than 3 hours from 100%.
Anyone else had this happen to them?
cheers

Have you tried going into the settings and turning the backlight off. Also turn the contrast right down (top left button) ?"The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0

yeah - checked backlight etc, not changed at all, still set to 50% like it was before. have charged it all day again and reset it so we'll see how it holds out in the next few days, think i'll wack it on charge if i need it next day from now. may be worth checking out a warranty replacement if it keeps this up as its still inside the year.0
