What do you use to lock a Carbon Frame bike inside Garage/bike shed? Are D-Lock's too heavy

Googled it and saw a thread on different forum stating that Kryptonite D-Locks are potentially too heavy and can damage carbon frames?
Is this true, if so what does everyone use?

Is this a joke?
Utter rubbish. Unless you are dropping the lock from a large height onto the frame, it would cause no damage. Im guessing when you ride your carbon bike, you're heavier than a d-lock?"The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0 -
Ah, more the denting etc, so wrapping it sounds like a sage suggestion. Cheers0

Here was the thread, where some folks going on about them being too heavy, I wasn't taking the michael with the post, looks like I mis read it, as they were talking about a D-Lock Mount......I'll get my coat...

i use a xena u-lock, bike is hung on a wall mount, the lock connects it to a big wall anchor
kryponite locks are pretty light, the xena weights 4 kgmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
There's no risk at all in using a heavy D-lock- as has already been said the forces you put on it when riding are way higher than hanging a lock off it.
The only risk could be scuffing the paint, but my kryptonite lock has a rubberised finish so that's not likely.
You won't dent a carbon frame either- they are more resistant to 'small' dings than alloy frames as well as they have some give to them.
This old but gold video is a good demonstration:

I think you should use some headphones. The cables are devilish difficult to untangle and they are light too.0

We use a heavy motorbike chain (much heavier than a D-lock) on my sons carbon frame - no damage at all after 3 years.
The issue in that thread was nothing to do with locking up a bike with a D-lock but clamping a travel bracket round the frame which is a totally different issue.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
