Lidl cycling gear starts on Sunday. Only a few items on the website currently. Do they normally do clothing etc too like Aldi do?

Usually what is on the website is what is in store... Generally Aldi does the better range of stuff in their event0

You'd think that they would get more into the spirit of things, given that they part sponsor one of pro cycling's premiere teams.0

You've doubtless forgotten you asked and my cycling is probably so far removed from everyone else's here that my thoughts will count for little but... I have a 20 year old Raleigh Trail which I've made more sit-up-and-beg with swept handlebars and more comfy with a sprung saddle post, Ergon grips, and mudguards; I suppose it would pass for a 'classic hybrid' now. It's low geared, and/or my legs are pitifully slow, and I'm lucky to get above 16mph on the level and have only once seen 30 but that was all down to gravity, so we're not talking road bikes here but it copes with some pretty rough bridleways. The original Selle saddle was never comfortable but I lived with it for years until I bought a dirt cheap padded cover from Lidl which was an improvement, but when I saw the price of these Wittkop saddles I thought I'd give one a go. I bought the middle, Trekking, one and as comfort is of more concern than speed I immediately swapped the cover over onto it too - it only just fitted - and it's wonderful. I had no idea cycling could be so comfortable! I feel like I'm sitting in the saddle rather than on it and I'm no longer finding myself searching for most comfortable position and immediately slipping out of it again. [That sounds like the bike's not fitted properly but I'd tried every adjustment over the years.] Despite the slow bike and me being in my 60s I did my first ever 100km ride last week and my bum was one of the few parts of me that didn't suffer - not in the slightest. I know most of you think that's a quick spin but before the mods I thought 20 miles was a long ride and my sit bones would certainly remind me that it was, long after I'd got home. My only problem is that with all that padding and springing the saddle is so high unloaded that it's hard to get my leg over, but sadly 'twas ever thus... With so much 'suspension' I've put more lbs in the rear tyre and that seems to speed me up a little. Anyway, the Wittkop saddle seems well made, is comfy and is unbelievable value - if you're not happy with what you have then the model appropriate to your bike and cycling style has got to be worth a try.0
