I have owned Edge glasses before and had to buy another pair recently. These are the best glasses for bright light in places where there is either snow or desert. They're my favorite for sitting next to the pool also. One pair of these with daily use will last rough handling about 1 year. If you only wear them when you drive, several years.-1

Photochromic for me, either Oakley, although I believe quality levels are not quite what they once were, or Scott in my experience, are equally as good, if not better, both in terms of tint change and frame quality.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

I have had a pair of Oakley glasses for the last 8+ years and they are still going strong. The mirroring on the main lens is now wearing off after a period of daily use. The yellow lenses are as new and the frames work perfectly well although they are looking a bit grubby now.
In contrast, before I bought the Oakleys, I was using (much) cheaper makes as sold by Ribble or eBay. Typically they would last about 12-18 months before the frame would snap. At 20GBP a pair I would have spent over 100GBP on these compared to about 106GBP for the Oakleys.
I made a warranty claim on the mirrored lens with Oakley. I had stored the glasses in a goggle pocket when skiing and the nylon head lace, attached to the glasses, had worn off part of the mirroring. Oakley sent a new lens with no questions.0 -
Some one can read more about Edge glasses here to understand more about this product. I hope my sharing can help some one.robertclark101299 said:I have owned Edge glasses before and had to buy another pair recently. To look like they have forgotten to take their safety gear off when they left work.robertclark101299 said:

Don't get Oakley Jawbreakers or Racing Jackets the road visibility is terrible... apparently.0

I have the photochromic ones. If I squint, I can just about make out the road...elbowloh said:Don't get Oakley Jawbreakers or Racing Jackets the road visibility is terrible... apparently.
Must depend on face shape/eye position. I cannot see the frames at all whilst riding, a totally clear field of vision. Wouldn't dream of wearing them off the bike though. Fugly but effective.0 -

I've just got some 100% speedtraps and they are excellent!0

Oakley are definitely not what they used to be, although still probs about the best.
I've found the later Prizm lenses do require a LOT more care to avoid scratches etc. Use anything other than the Oakley microfibre bag at your peril! Don't even think about wiping mid-ride with your jersey or paper towel etc.
I use an old Oakley microfibre bag I had spare and pop my phone in it on longer rides now. If I stop and/ or need to clean the lens a bit, I've got the 'O' bag to use.0
