I went to have a look a the above bike today, on display they had the early model but after I spoken to sale staff the pulled one of the newer model out the back they had for service, now apart from slight colour change which does not bother me the newer bike have wider rims, is there anything else I have missed? After I asked him about bike relibillity he did informed me they had couple for warranty repair, 1 for rear shock bushing and the one he got out the back was for lower linkage knocking and play. Now I'm not trying to knock the brand or anything like as I'm thinking about getting one my self but where do you get the parts for them? also notice a bit of sticking on front forks this is on both bikes on display and one for service, is this normal on them Sektor forks?

In all honesty I'm bit worried if I go for it as the bike that came for service/repair looked like new so definitly didn't see much action and already having problem.

What do you think?

Regards
Ade

Rockshox forks always feel a bit sticky until they're bedded in. I always give them a service straight out of the box as they rarely have the correct amount of oil in them.
All bikes have their issue, anything can fail and for me it's more about how the manufacture deals with it and it sounds like Calibre will sort them under warranty. Knocking in the linkage and shock bushes are not serious issues, the bearings are standard parts you can get from any bearing shop and the shock bushes are available through any bike shop or suspension specialist. The only parts specific to Calibre are the actual frame and linkages.
As for looking like new when being serviced, that could be a sign of a decent quality finish and a careful owner. I know of three year old bikes which still look like they've just come straight out of a showroom. Mine doesn't because I don't care about having a shiny bike.

Thanks for clarification about rockshox forks, yes no dought about they will sort it out under warranty just thinking what will happen outside that warranty, also they offered me 10% on the older version which makes it bit intresting as is the last one, what do you think is the wider rims worth the asking price on newer model?

Just took mine back yesterday, I'd hang on got the orange one that's coming in April. Had 3 replacement frames and the shock stuck down the last time I rode it.

I think they might have had to make too many compromises to get down to the price.

Swapped mine for a hard tail in the end.

I found your problem prawny on single track, and by looks of it your not alone so looks like will have to pass this beast for now.

TBH, there's been loads of people that have been happy too, if you're local to a shop and the one you get is ok clearance wise then I'd go for it.

Part of my issue is that the shop is 10+ miles away from me so any issue is a hour or two out of the weekend and after the 5th trip the family were getting wound up. They were good to deal with and happy to sort any issues, I just got sick of going back and forth so went for a simple hard tail instead.

Weirdly looking at my other thread, I'd still have another, but just not at the moment.

Went back today to have a look at rear clearance, they didn't have the 19" frame in stock for me to have a look at, should get some back in stock by end of the week, I'm not in rush so might wait for the model with 1 piece linkage to arrive.

Just don't know at the moment everytime I see one I just want to ride it away but my head saying wait.

I still can't decide, I want round to have a look at another bikes, something that cought my eye was the Voodoo Canzo but is a bit let down by the gears and brakes, but could get that with another 10% off so makes it a bit intresting, I could always put deore groupeset on it and that would bring to sort of £1k mark, just not sure that the bike would be worth it so looking after advice on this also how about droper post on this frame.
