Giro Empire vs. SLX vs. ACC

I think I would like to get some more stylish shoes than my current dhb R1.0 and I really like the look of the Empire range.
Has anyone tried different shoes in this range and could perhaps offer some input on what the actual difference is? I'm not too concerned about the £15 price difference.
I was looking at the Empire SLX mainly, it looks like a nice breathable and stylish shoe.

Get the Factors; laces on cycling shows are a stupid idea.

I have the SLX and love them - very light, and the laces let you adjust the fit very effectively. Had SIDI Genius and Wire before and don't miss them.

Why do you say that, I find the laces very stylish. some people on reviews said it makes it hard to adjust the shoes mid-ride but I have never wanted to adjust my shoes .

Do you think theyre good for the spring and summer? I'm worried my current shoes (dhb R1.0) might be too warm in warm weather

Shoes are rarely too warm in a British summer. So, don't worry about that. Your dhb will be ok with suitable socks. But, yes, the SLX will be fine as well. They're sufficiently breathable.

Bender I think you just don't cycle hard enough :):) my garmin recorded 5C today and I was just wearing some normal M&S black cotton socks and my dhb shoes and my feet were too warm

I did 32 miles, 7 degrees, Rapha winter socks.

Cold. You must run very very warm.

Hell yes. I used mine in the Alps last summer, with average temps of 32+ including the Joux Plane, which essentially has no shade, and they were ideal. I also use them in winter with merino socks and shoe covers, and they're fine. They do take forever to dry out naturally though, once they're wet through.

You wear these shoes in the winter? Brave man. I was pretty stoked to go on my first ride with my new shoes today, but ended up using my old dhb ones instead on account of the recent rain and not wanting to get my new shoes all muddy :)

I have a slightly OTT approach to that issue.

Wholly different bike, pedals and shoes!

They're just so light and comfy. I was intending to use my Sidi Wires as winter shoes for club rides, but they feel so clunky in contrast that they've been relegated to turbo use only. I've got some Giro Republics and some old Shimano cheapies I use for commuting depending on the pedals on the bike on the day.
