30-32c tyres for road use

Looking to stick some quick rolling tyres on my Croix De Fer. Currently has Clement Xplor 35c on which are fine for mixed use, but a bit too draggy/wide for pure road. I dont want to go to 25s as I have that on my carbon bike so something around 30-32c should be sufficient for a bit of comfort whilst being relatively quick. Seems to be a range of choices out there from Schwalbe/Conti/Clement etc but no clear winner? If only GP4000s came in 30c!

Hi, I use gp4000 28's, they come up at 30mm and are very fast rolling, love them

Ditto Michelin Pro4 Endurance in 28's - think they tend to come up bigger on most rims. Have been running them for a couple of years now on various bikes and can't fault them

(Apart from losing grip on black ice at the end of January and dumping me unceremoniously on the tarmac . Still recovering from that episode but in truth any road tyre would have behaved the same way under the prevailing conditions)

I run Gatorskin hardshell in 32c

good compromise between rolling, weight, grip and bulletproofness ... never had a sketch moment on them and I ride beyond my limit a lot of the time, I take shortcuts across fields tracks, they carry my weight and the weight of panniers, they bounce off kerbs, they ride over cobbles, they ride all weather in the gutter of Bristol amoungst the broken glass and debris.

I like them ......... and they are quicker than my 25mm GP4iis ... but only because I don't slow down or avoid anything with these on :D

Challenge Paris-Roubaix. Very nice tyres, come up around 30mm (despite being labelled 27mm). Not cheap, though!

Have these on my road bike. Very plush, come up wide. Wearing well too - 1k miles and no sign of any wear

Yep. That said, they're rapid with tubes. I'm within 1 mph of my best average with these on a SuperX v Pro One on my Supersix.

Those Schwalbe g ones are bloody expensive! Are they particularly hard wearing? They look great but look like they would wear fairly quickly

Mine have been on since late August and are pretty much as new.

Dunno. At least 1500, probably nearer to 2k

Mine have only done about 4-500 miles tubeless and they rear tyre is looking a bit more worn than I'd expect
I'm not expecting to get mega mileage out of them!

the Germans were cheaper than the UK sites last time I bought some G-Ones. That was pre-Brexit though so the pound has obviously dropped since then.

Managed to find a set of S Ones in 30c. I'm going to fit them to a set of Cero ARD23 disc wheels so should take around 800g from the standard setup.
