Mavic Aksium Spoke Removal
I have a set of Mavic Aksiums (2016 edition) and have a broken spoke on the rear wheel (non-drive side). Unfortunately the spoke has broken in the nipple (I was trying to true the wheel and the spoke and nipple must have fused...one turn too many and PING...the spoke's in two!) so I will need to replace the nipple too. I’m going to buy a replacement spoke and nipple (do replacement spokes usually come with nipples or do I need to get this separately?!).
However, my main issue is that I can’t seem to remove the broken spoke from the hub! They are straight pull, bladed spokes so thought they’d quite easily be released from the hub once tension has been released…but apparently not.
This youtube video shows the exact problem I’m having (without giving a solution!). Does anyone have any ideas? It’s my first broken spoke so I might be missing something basic here.

Doesn't that ring come off and allow you to tap the remains out sideways?
ETA the Mavic manual says the spokes go in from the outside and that ring clips on to keep them in place. So yes, unclip the retaining ring and it should come out.0 -
looks like front wheel and rear nds have a cap you need to remove, see page 26...

Thanks both! I couldn’t see an obvious way of removing this cap. I didn’t want to try the brute force method as this is what got me in this mess in the first place! I’ll try prising it off and see if I can get in that way!
Thanks for the link for the replacement spokes too!0
