Hi,

I'm looking at a buying a used (but pretty much almost new - had 3 or so rides) pair of these wheels. They were taken off a Norco Sight 7.3 (https://www.evanscycles.com/norco-sight ... e-EV211798).

The wheels have SLX hubs so I'll need to get a velofuze adapter in order to fit to my On-One 45650b (135mm QR rear dropout), and I'm presuming the front will be fine for use with a Rockshox Sektor Silver (and not need a velofuze or similar).

Although the hubs aren't regarded as all that good, would these wheels be a good set for all round riding - I won't be doing any DH or jumps etc.

Thank you,

Mike

I'm not sure anyone does an adaptor to narrow a 142mm rear hub down to 135mm?

Is your Sektor 15mm or QR?

The sektor is 15x100mm maxle - which I'm guessing isn't an issue.

Velofuze have various adaptors on their site (example below) and they look like at least one should do the trick - however as you rightly state if the adaptor has no change to the width then it won't fit.

This is the SLX rear hub http://bike.shimano.com/content/sac-bike/en/home/mtb1/wheels---hubs/rear-hubs/fh-m678.html

That's not going to work with a 142mm hub.

Plus according to your link, your hub is 12mm, not 15mm.

 My bad! TBH, I'm still trying to work out this whole 135/142 9mm/15mm hub combination. I'm also a very tactile person - and prefer to see/try/measure things rather than assume they fit!

So, would the following adapter work with the SLX rear hub, AND as a result allow the wheel to be used in my on-one 45650b (135mm rear spacing)? :?

I don't think so - your existing hub is 142mm

    All sounds a bit confused.

    Is it 12mm to QR?

Convert your existing 12mm x 135mm Thru Axle hub to accept a standard 5mm quick release skewer. This converts only 12mm Thru Axle Hubs to fit 135mm dopout spacing. Fits a wide variety of hubs. See video for installation.

    Or for the front?

No tools required for installation. Simply insert the Adapter into the thru axle hub and secure the wheel using a standard 5mm quick release skewer. See sample pictures. For better installation the use of small amount of grease around the O-rings will ease installation. Slide in a standard 5mm quick release skewer and install on standard 9mm dropout x 100mm wide fork.

    This bit is just confusing:

Fits your 15mm thru axle hub or your money back guarantee!

May work with a 135, can't possibly make a 142 rear hub fit inside a 135mm dropout, it doesn't require specialist knowledge to figure that out!

I agree, I can't see how it would fit as the Velofuze solution is essentially a reduction sleeve which fits inside the original axle. The velofuze doesn't reduce the width of the original (outer) axle - which it sits within - and as such the original (outer) axle remains at unchanged.
