Can I just put a Shimano freehub on a 582 rear hub and switch the washer to the NDS (I think that's the way)?

I am re-hubbing a wheel so am hopeful they are the same dimensions etc?

Anyone help? :-) thanks!

Cheers. And that's right that I'd need to switch the washer over to the NDS isn't it?

Don't think so... it's the 172 which has the washer to switch... no washers on the 482 IIRC... you swap the DS hub cap which comes with the freehub

Hmmm, although this video (by Novatec, admittedly for the "SL" version of the hub, but surely pretty much the same) does suggest that there is a washer (and I do have a washer one way or another...).
