Hi, looking to get a new commuting bike for winter. Currently using a Cube Reaction GTC with slicks.

Has to be a road bike with fittings to take rear rack. Commute is 15mile round trip from Muswell Hill to Paddington. Sections of road, e.g. near Hampstead are v poor (potholes galore, etc). Bike therefore needs to be able to take punishment.

Planet X London Road looks good but are there any better alternatives ?

Thanks

Pinnacle Dolomite 2016 - I've got one, hydro discs and 105 for £850 in sale, if you're the right size you might still get one (newer model has lower spec)

It's just a hill. Get over it.
  • Or the Pinnacle Arkose, if you want to use wider tyres, up to ~45c IIRC.

The Dolomite is limited to 25c with mudguards, or 28c without, apparently. Cracking bike for £850 if there is any stock left though!

Finally got round to putting 'guard on mine, what a faff. Get some raceblade XL and you could fit 28s; I'm happy with 25s.

You can buy frame only also.
