Recommend me some shoes...

In the market for some CX-orientated shoes and was hoping for some god suggestions. Currently using my old road shoes which are ideal during any sort of dismounting, and similarly are not very mud/waterproof. Ideally would like some with a slight recess for the Shimano mtb cleat and some level of waterproofness. Aesthetically pleasing is also a plus!

If you want waterproof/warm I do all of my commuting and winter cross training wearing Shimano MW5 winter boots.0

I have Shimano XC51N.
They are pretty weatherproof as they have no mesh and they take spikes for muddy run ups.0 -
What Chris said, the XC(number)N are very good shoes.
Here's my take on the XC50N.

XC51N are prettier overall. Not a lot of stock around of them now, so you will have to google. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Thanks all - some good food for thought. XC51N in particular look very aligned to what I need and are fairly attractive to boot! The search begins...0
