Lost cateye rear light / best replacement?

Bit of a long shot I know, but if anybody comes across a Cateye TL LD 1100 rear light I'd be grateful for it's return. It's the thing that looks a bit like a hand grenade. Not as light or as powerful as today's rear lights, but I'd become rather attached to it. Unfortunately that attachment wasn't reciprocated and it must've bounced out of the loop of my seatpack somewhere on yesterday's ride
I'm not sufficiently technical to post the GPS route, but in old money it went Newmarket, Cheveley, Stetchworth, Dullingham, Six Mile Bottom, Wilbrahams, Fulbourn, Balsham, West Wratting, Weston Colville, Brinkley, Borough Green, Dullingham, Stetchworth, Cheveley, Newmarket.
Assuming the worst, and it's either been smashed to bits by a car or fallen into the hands of a felon, what's the best of the current crop of rear lights in the £20-30 range? I'd prefer something I can mount on a seatstay or fix to a rack.

Well I've ordered a selection of 3 cheapies from Planet X at £3 a go so I can carry on using my AAA rechargeables, and a Moon Comet X Pro so I can see how a USB rechargeable LiPo battery and newer LED technology compares.
I already had a smaller Cateye as a backup on the seatpost, so I'll be lit up like a christmas tree later this week! I think the limiting factor will be the number of viable attachment points, and how secure the belt clips appear.0 -
I like the cateye volt 50 - its discontinued now - but you can still get some.
the lezyne power strip is a good light - but the mount drives me bonkers it always flopping to one side0 -
I've got a Moon Comet and a Moon Shield. Of the two, I probably prefer the Comet although both are good.
I have one mounted using the saddle rail bracket which is excellent. The other one is mounted to the rear rack using the bracket which you can buy separately.0 -
Knog Blinder 4 has served me well. Can sit it stable on aero seatposts too if req0

I had one of those. Super reliable and great coverage but not bright.
Get a couple of the smart half watt lights. Amazing brightness and much lighter0 -
You dont need rear lights to be mega bright. I've seen some that are light car rear fog lights. They only annoy drivers and that just exacerbates problems0

The saddle rail mount was one of the reasons I went for the Comet X Pro; I can have that, then one of the Smart R1s on the loop of the seat pack, and the cateye on the seatpost beneath the pack.0 -

That's exactly what I did; 2 x Smart R1s. £2.99 from PX
And the Moon Comet can be set to different levels of brightness so I won't be blinding anyone0 -

I got one of these to mount my other Moon light on my rear rack. I believe there's a cheaper Raleigh version that some people are using with Moon lights.0 -
Annoyingly I have a Cateye rack mount for the light that went missing, but it doesn't fit the Cateye light I still have
Mind you, I've had the rack for 6 or 7 years and it's still in it's packaging0 -
Well all the rear lights arrived on my desk this morning. The Smart R1s appear to be tiny / light and pretty bright for £2.99. The Moon Comet is really tiny, like half a Twix finger, and mentally bright. Made the mistake of looking at it and I now have a white rectangle burned into my retinas which is making typing a bit tricky.0

Tits! The saddle rail mount won't work because of the shape of the rails / how far forward it is in the clamp. I may have to fit the rack and get a mount for that. Or I might try it on the seatstay if that's secure enough... It's certainly bright enough and has a wide enough angle to compensate for the fact it's pointing slightly skywards.0 -
Why not get a Cateye LD610? It runs on 2 x AAA and fits the same bracket as the LD1100.
I have its predecessor the LD600 and it is plenty bright enough.Aspire not to have more, but to be more.0 -

I think the LD600 is what I'd bought as a backup for the LD1100. I just thought it wouldn't fit the rack mount, but confess I haven't tried it. I shall have a look tonight!0 -
The Cateye LD600 was a great light especially if mounted vertically because it would then show up 90 degrees off center, however compared to newer lights it's rear visibility is not as good as newer ones. The LD600 is an old light now and much better ones have since come along. I think the Cygolite Hotshot 50 is now the best light for rear visibility for the price, plus it's rechargeable; see: https://www.amazon.com/CygoLite-Hotshot ... B013FIWBCS. However there are some really low cost ones that have gotten high reviews on Amazon and both cost less than $20; see: https://www.amazon.com/Stupidbright-SBR ... =rtblab-20 AND this one: https://www.amazon.com/Blitzu-Rechargea ...
