Direct Mount Brake - Brake Pad Compatibility

Hi Sportmates!
I have the Shimano 105 (BR-5810) Direct Mount brakes. Recently, I got some problems with the factory (Ultegra/Dura Ace R55C4 pads), and would like to change them. Could I fit some standard R55C3 pads in them? As I know, the hole for the screw is not on the same place, but this can be solved. On the first try, I do not want to change the brake shoes, because maybe it would create some frame-brake problems (shoes touching the frame).
Can I fit an R55C3 pad to a R55C4 shoe? Or, also would like to try the Koolstop Salmon pads. Are those compatible with these shoes? I do not see any difference other than the place of the screw.
Thanks for all the help.

I have the same problem with the same brakes on my Reacto. But, you can easily get around it with a Stanley blade to cut a notch for the retaining screw at the other end.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

Yes, that is my plan.

The only difference between the R55C3 pads and the R55C4 is the groove for the screw.FFS! Harden up and grow a pair0
