Which Stans tubeless kit for Mavic XM319

Does anyone have experience of which kits fits the Mavic XM319 rim best, the XC 29er kit or the All Mountain kit?

The question is slightly loaded, I shall explain. My brother, in his haste, bought the All Mountain kit for his bike but having seen it turn up I have questioned his logic and did some digging. The rim is 24.5mm wide, the All Mountain kit is apparently for rims 25-28mm and the XC kit is for rims 21-25mm. Is the 0.5mm extra going to kill it, so should he look at getting the kit swapped?

Oddly, Stans website seem to state the difference between the 2 kits is the length of the strip, not the width? What am I missing?

to give tubeless a go on my 27.5 xm319's on the full sus & the 700c boardman aero rims on the road bike ( really hope ghetto rim sealing holds at higher pressures on the boardman rims as i really dont wanna be changing tyres/tubes on that thing by the roadside as they are friggin tight fit. )

i did ponder using self amalgamating tape to seal the rim ( got a couple of unused rolls of the stuff handy you see ) instead of eletrical tape or gorilla tape etc but then i remembered how heavy the stuff is compared with the other tapes mentioned & thus not worth using as a tube may be lighter lol
