Recommend a spring/summer Jersey...

Hi all,
I am on the hunt for a new summer-ish jersey while there are still someday deals about in the sales.
Being pretty slim I feel the cold quite significantly so wondered whether I am best going for:
A windproof Jersey such as the perfecto (other recommendations of thin but windproof jerseys more than welcome)
A nice summer Jersey (Rapha classic?) with a windproof gilet
A nice summer Jersey with a windslam baselayer (do worry that this option would be too hot)
What do the cold blooded among you turn to in the summer months. Have a gabba and love it but can get a little clammy on those really warm days.

Have you tried unzipping the Gabba slightly? The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
When the Gabba gets too hot normally then its time for just a Rapha sportswool long sleeve jersey with gilet.0

These are excellent. Windstopper front and shoulders but plenty of non Windstopper panels on back and sides so still very breathable. Size one down from your Rapha/Castelli size of you like a race fit.
Should be another 10 quid off with Saver10 code if it's still working.

There are also the chest vents...The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

get a lightweight gilet, it'll prevent wind chill and you can stuff into a pocket if you're too warm
use it with jersey or jersey + mesh baselayermy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
I rode through most of last week with a thermal Chapeau long sleeve and a dhb gilet. In even driving range. A gilet is always a good way to goMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Any old short sleeve Top and then a gilet over the Top of it. Sorted. Much more versatile than a windproof short Top?0

The castelli potenza looks like a nice late mild winter/spring item?0

I feel the cold lots but find that my Perfetto gets far too warm in the summer - as above is the best answer: any cool short sleeved top with gilet over.
Remember that if you go all black it's 2mph more top end free of charge.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Cheers for the tips all...
Think I am going with one of the first suggestions of a Rapha Classic (albeit Short Sleeve). Should do fine for most of spring/autumn/summer with a mesh base/gilet shouldn't it (below 23ish)? Currently have one in my size sale for £65.
Have a DHB Aeron for the absolute hottest days but only find myself wearing it 3-5 times a year.
I think your all right in that a perfetto wouldnt reallyy open up many options.0 -

I'd recommend this Castelli Raffica for when a Gabba is too warm:

Windproof front panels but highly breathable back fabric. Get loads of use from mine....
