Trek Fuel ex pivot bearing removal

The bike a fuel ex 9, 2011. I plan to replace the pivot bearings and looking online saw a good video showing how to do it with couple of vices and a few other pieces, I've also seen bike specific tools or tools for certain sized bearings - or home make M10 bolt/washers jobs.
Given that I don't yet have a vice, or any of those extra pieces or any kind of specific bearing removal/installation tool what would people recommend - needs to be cost effective!
