Road stolen
I'm on the verge of buying a new bike but I'm just wondering if there's been any advancements in security since I last bought one? Is there a tracking device similar to 'find my iphone' around now? Microchipping maybe?

Personally I'd spend my efforts on not letting the bike get stolen,

Yes, there are tracking gadgets you glue somewhere down inside the frame, but I imagine any self-respecting bike thief would be aware of the fact too.
But I'd second the suggestion of making the theft as difficult as possible and having adequate insurance...

Nothing that works. Search the MTB side for a couple of threads. Every few years someone revives them with a new story.
I don't do smileys.

If my bike is outside it's never unattended. I go out to ride not have it look pretty leant up against coffee shops.
