I'll probably go for a new bike soon. To be used for comuitng to work (which will be part train ride) and then cycle.
I'm thinking of either a

Or a Giant TCR Advanced 2 disc

Planet X has the better spec I think and lighter, but the TCR as disc brakes which are more confidence inspiring in damp conditions.
Thoughts?

Definitely get discs on a commuter ride - aside from the fact that they'll work better in the wet, it also means you won't be wearing out your wheel rims with the stop start of commuting in traffic.
Also, you could argue that the slightly lesser spec is a good thing for a commuter, as it's cheaper to replace cassettes and chainrings while maintaining the same spec.0 -
Giant is a much better quality product. Lifetime warranty on the frame.0

Giant ..... 1 year down the line you won't discover that you can't replace the brake cables because Planet X filled their frame with expanding foam0

Tcr all day long0

I haven't ridden either of those bikes, however I prefer the look of the slimmer frame of the TCR to the aero frame of the PX, the junction of the HT, TT and DT looks fugly IMO.0
