Hey up,

does anyone use Memory Map 270 unit as computer / navigation device? I have Memory Maps on my phone but don't particularly need so much detail.

The MM 270 seems like a good compromise at a reasonable price

Anyone any experience of these units?

I think that this is one of the very old ones. I used to have a 250 and it was very good indeed apart from battery life and storage - both of which can be rectified. I traded mine in for one of the new defender versions which is a ruggedised phone / camera / gps and uses an up to date Android OS and has much more storage. Frankly I preferred the old one! - but I do like the camera.

I only go XC and so this GPS with its 1:50000 mapping is superb. My new one has the OS 2016 maps but no big deal. If you buy a 1:25000 sheet map then you also get a free down load which you can add to the GPS.
...take your pickelf on your holibobs.... :D

    jeez
  • Thanks FishFish. I already have all that on my phone so I was looking for a more simple / cheaper solution. My phone is a company phone so I don't have much choice in what I have.

More research suggests a Garmin 20 or 25 maybe better
