Chain Ring Advice

My son is running an 11spd Sram Force double chainset 52/36 with a rear cassette of 32/11 . Would this arrangement still work if the front 36 chainring was changed to a 34 or maybe a 32. Any advice most welcome, Thanks.

    The jump from 34 to 52 may be too much for the mech to handle. Assuming the chainset is a 110bcd, then a 32 won't fit anyway.
