Brand New Hubs sticking

I just got some new wheels delivered that were hugely reduced in the new year Superstar sale.
I only just realised in my whole life I have never had a new wheel.... the closest was getting new hubs to build a wheelset but that was for my kids bike.
Anyway ... the new wheels finally arrived... but the hubs seem really sticky/stiff ... but as I've only ever had a single set of new hubs before not sure if that is something that will work out with use or I should slacken off the cones myself or "send back" ??? Perhaps they are just really packed full of grease ???
Both hubs are the same stickyness.... (they are the Superstar Fuel ones) ... whereas the last (and only) new hubs I bought for my kids wheel were lightweight Novatec and probably not particularly strong or well sealed against British elements and mud.
The amount of stickyness is just about enough to move the freewheel if I rotate the hubs....

Good luck with slackening off the cones on sealed cartridge bearing hubs!
Its perfectly normal for new cartridge bearings to be a bit sticky/gloopy/draggy, Hope feel like they are lubricated with treacle! It goes quite quickly.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Thanks .... that is really what I was hoping (no pun intended) .... I just didn't want to start using them and then have it not free up..... but I'll go ahead and stick some tape and tubeless valves on and get them on the bike.
I stripped my Saint pedals last week and regreased and they feel a bit sticky now but its nice to know it's due to grease given current riding conditions0
