The original (FSA) headset my bike came with is shot. I'm looking for a decent replacement. It's an integrated headset with a straight 1 1/18" steerer. My original thought was CK but of course they don't make integrated headsets.....
FFS! Harden up and grow a pair :D

I suppose the lower bearing is shot , why not change that one and ride on?
Sure you can buy them separately for a tenner.
Only a few manufacturers make these things, not much quality difference anyway...
My personal expierience with FSA is really good , the oldest is 4 years now and still running fine....

Is it a cartridge bearing or loose ball headset. If the latter they must be serviced to last. Also to recomend a headset we need tl know the headset standard for your bike. To buy a headset you need to know the headset standard for your bike.

I have a cheap headset that have lasted and continue to last (miche needle bearing) and more expensive headsets (fsa orbit 1") that last just as well. Headset longevity seems to have little to do with cost.

Cane creek will make a suitable headset. The 40 range is pretty good. But some bikes do seems to get shorter lower bearing life than others and the "quality" of the headsets fitted to all is pretty similar. It is all the intergrated frames that seem to suffer the most.

"integrated headset for 11/8"steerer" does not leave much room for misunderstanding....
Never had any problems with those , but I own metal frames only....
